I'm all for giving women a variety of empowering birth options but this homebirth supply list has me very thankful I'll be at the hospital once again.


Seriously, I can make some educated guesses at the need for garbage bags but the cookie sheet has me totally stumped. Bendy straws? Pot with lid?

I'm not sure I even want to know.

    1. One can never really have enough garbage bags... If I was planning a homebirth, I'd probably have the whole house plastic-wrapped :)

  2. First of all, thanks for commenting on my blog--my first legit comment-yay! Second, this post has me chuckling. I had a homebirth with my last and while it was fine and all, this kind of thing is why I'll be headed back to a birthing center in January! The house and carpet were a mess (bad garbage bag placement?). My poor husband felt totally overworked by all the tub filling, cleaning, etc. He might be the most relieved!

  3. That's too funny - most home birth people have nothing but good things to say but I always thought it seemed like a lot of work. I was also happy that I didn't believe everyone who said it wasn't messy when I saw our neighbours toss-out their mattress after they had a home birth. Plus, why would I turn down unlimited hot water? :)
